I upgrade my iPhone 4 to iOS 5, and in the restore process, about 2% of my apps are there ... before I upgraded I did a full backup, and the backup IS in itunes .... I clicked "restore from backup" and instead of restoring apps, it's restoring "music and video." ... ????

The folders I've had aren't there /etc .. When I did this to my iPad, all of the folders and apps were there, but they were greyed out .. now they're not even there! ?

Csn you see your apps in iTunes? Just go to the app tab and click "Apply" (I think) then the apps will start to copy over. This happened to me a with a couple of the betas.

do another restore - this happened to me last night. Restore from back up (again) and it should be fine.

Not only didn't it copy all of my apps the first time...but it forgot folders - so there were apps everywhere and NONE of them worked. Only the native apps actually did.

Again - restored (again) and everything is perfect

thought it happened to me until i saw iTunes was still syncing and actioning the restore. I left it still doing a sync and saw each app one by one pop up on the iPod screen so if in doubt make sure the restore has actually finished before panicing....

Ditto

Yes, my iPad 2 is taking forever after the upgrade. Itunes says "restoring apps". Ipad allows slide to unlock and it setup iCloud. Not it seems to be restoring one app at a time, and my ipad screen flips to page where the apps are as they are being restored. Looks like my music not restored yet. Wow, this is taking a LONG time. I did a backup before I started the upgrade process. Guess I will just let it finish. I saw another post that it took hours to restore all the ipad apps, music, etc.

they are in the cloud,go to the app store and check "not in the phone" and download them to the phone again;)

As far as I can see, I got my apps, but the last time I updated, I lost a lot of them and downloaded what I could using my brain.

When you say "go to the app store" and check "not in the phone", is this only in the main App Store? I'm on my iPhone and I don't see it in the mobile App Store.
