I have an early 2015 MacBook Air. When I first got the machine and set it up, I elected to use my photographs as the screensaver. I suppose I stored them all in Photos, the photo app with this machine. Over the years I have fiddled with the photos, and recently reintroduced my originals from my old Windows machine back into the Mac because I was afraid I had somehow lost some. At any rate, as I sit here watching the photo flash through on the screensaver, I would swear I am seeing pictures that are not in Photos. Don't know if that is possible.

My question is, where are the photographs that come up as a screensaver stored in the Mac/OS? Are they all in Photos and only there, or could they be somewhere else? And how would I find them if they are somewhere else?

Go to System Preferences>Screensaver/Desktop and you can select the folder in which pictures are stored to use as your screensaver.

The folder that's indicated will be the one in use.
