I just ardered a 2021 24 in iMac on Oc 5, I was just wondering where are they made since I ordered a custom configuration- since it’s been in processing since 9:54am on October 5 and it is still in processing as of now and the delivery range is October 26 to November 2.

*I know this off topic- on October 1 I order the iPhone 15 pro max in blue 256 GB and it has been in processing for about a week now and the delivery range is October 24 to 31

All of it is coming from China.

If this is BTO then it is likely not yet scheduled to be assembled.

Will just have to wait and see when my ships - it's only been couple days since I ordered the 2021 24 inch iMac. its been a week for my iPhone 15 Pro Max since I ordered it on Sunday October 1, and I ordered my iMac on October 5- or maybe they are trying to line up delivery for both the iPhone and iMac since they are going to same location

Could mean a refresh is happening soon?
For a iMac 24" M2, Apple should have done that last

- Oct 2022 with iPad Pro M2 making it 18 months old
- Jan 2023 with Mac mini M2 & M2 Pro making it 21 months old

As of today that iMac is 30 months old.

From M1 to M2 took 19.5 months.

M3 chip is likely to occur Q1 2024 before Apr 2024 with these devices getting it 1st

- Vision Pro
- iPad Pro
- MBA
- MBP 13"
- iMac 24"

By WWDC 2024 in June the M3 Pro & Max chips for the MBP 14"/16" & Mac mini will be out. Hopefully a iMac 32" as well.

Before Christmas M3 Ultra chip for the 2024 Mac Studio & Mac Pro.

M4 chip be out by WWDC 2025. Hopefully it be 2nm.

What configuration did you order that requires a long lead time for BTO?
This is the configuration
Apple M1 chip with 8-core CPU with 4 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores, 8-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine
8GB unified memory
1TB SSD storage
Two Thunderbolt / USB 4 ports
Two USB 3 ports
Gigabit Ethernet
Magic Mouse
Magic Keyboard with Touch ID - US English
Accessory Kit

its simple its just the SSD

I’m a little disappointed that my delivery days got pushed back it was expose to be October 26 to Nov. 2 and today is October 27, and Jim’s saw now it is Nov 10 to the 14 of Novembe.

i just wonder if apple is running out of supplies for the 2021 24 inch M1 iMac, Or they are just busy with finishing up those iMac so they can focus one the 2023 24 inch iMac

You may want to consider returning your order when you receive it as an M3 iMac appears to be launched next week, with orders maybe taking place the following week

My family needs a desktop right away- since we do are takes on the test top it’s easy to use since the people that do are tax send us stuff electronically and sometimes it hard to see some stuff on the iPads - I just wonder how much the m3 iMac will cost I have a feeling they might be a little bit more expensive and just worried how fast the per- orders How far the shipping times will go.
I know this is a little of topic my personal laptop is M1 Max MacBook Pro the 16 inch and I’ve been pleased with it and no issues, I have a 3rd gen 11 in iPad Pro with m1 and a 4th gen 11 in iPad Pro with the m2 and both have been very good go complaints yet with any of the m series chips. Just want to get a desktop back in the house before the holiday since i always go to my sisters place in Chicago for Xmas 🎄 so no one would be home to recieve the 2023 iMac if I did order one. It’s strange that apple is doing an evening event.
The only issues is I don’t know if I will be in town on thanksgivin.

If it follow the M1, the 2 port USB only has a single fan while the 4 port version has the dual fan. Strongly suggest you get the version with the dual fans.

I’m very happy since I’m getting the NEW 2023 iMac with M3 chip

I placed the order for 2021 iMac with the M1 chip. Apple had the m3 announcement last night

you could order the m3 iMac last night and will be available Tuesday November , so I checked my order saw now it says arrives November 7 and i also check the configuration and saw the m1 was replaced with a m3.

this morning I got a email from Apple say they updated the order to 2023 iMac
