There have been surprisingly few iPad Pro leaks for the expected October unveiling - hoping we get some more before the event. Seems like the iPhone 14 was fully known in advance down to schematic drawings, colors, etc. Sure there were some late breaking leaks on the continuous pill shape but almost everything hardware wise was known in advance.
For the iPad Pro 2022 so far we only know the obvious - it will have the M2 chip and no major chassis/display size changes
There has been a leak on 4 pin connector on 2 of the sides but little info as to the purpose. No other leaks that I know of such as FaceTime camera placement, rear camera config, weight/thickness, and of course the much anticipated "MagSafe" addition. No leaks of Magic Keyboard changes either. Hopefully we will learn more before the event. Hopefully the lack leaks doesn't mean there are changes coming.
I know there are those that prefer no spoilers but my personality is that I will get all wrapped up in Apple's powerful marketing machine during on October event presentation and decide to buy on the spot instead of having time to think about the changes individually and collectively over time to decide if it is worth the upgrade.

From what I have seen there are two lines of thinking on upcoming iPad Pro. Either it will have a glass back with new multiple color options, wireless charging, the new 4 pin connectors on both sides of the back, same screens and cameras OR it will have a glass apple logo cut out with all the same features I mentioned but with the glass cut out I am not sure of the multiple colors. All will have M2 and same 8gb ram. That is all I have heard so far.

Yeah the lack of news has been driving me crazy. Also there is a strong possibility the price will go up $100 on the base model and all models throughout the line respectively.

I have been trying to figure out if I want to save money and get a Pro now, keep the air I just got or wait for the new Pro. If there is a price increase I will most likely not get it. M1 is still really fast on an iPad. But the new color options and M2 are tempting.

I am hoping that Apple have managed to keep this years iPP really under wraps… I really hope that it isn’t because the differences are so minimal factory workers think they just assembling the current iPP’s lol.

In all seriousness, all I have found out is something about the Smart Connector changing, possible landscape first design, a possible new magic keyboard (here’s hoping it collapses down into a tablet mode), glass Apple logo/glass back and MagSafe charging.

Other than that I haven’t heard nothing else, I expect we will see iPP rumours ramp up now the iPhone event is out the way though.

Leakers really only fully concentrate on the iPhone. We have hardly heard anything about the new Mac Pro either. you get the odd few rumours and predictions until say before the event, leakers only do it to make money so they leak what’s most popular.

Wasn't there something about a larger pro destined to come out? Or was that something that isn't slated until next year?

Would the glass back not be better served to solely reverse wireless charge another device?

To me the lack of leaks can only mean one thing: There won't be any major changes to the iPad Pro line this year other than the introduction of the M2 chip and the new 4 Pin connectors on the back. The rumored 14 inch iPad will most likely be released next year and all the other changes we heard about in the last few months will be reserved for the 2023 models. I hope I'm wrong on this though.

Yeah, but what can those 4-pin connectors be used for?? Will Logi, Brydge, Zagg and others all have to make new keyboard cases? Inquiring minds that want a new case ready to go for the new iPP need to know!

I don't even understand the point of the M2. I wasn't under the impression the M1 can be fully used, does it just save Apple money to move all their production to M2 and dial down the M1?
As I understand Apple wanting the M2 in the next iPad Pro, is that we people here like higher numbers and Apple knows this and will sell a ton of these when they come out as I will. Even though it’s overkill today, it may not be someday in the future. Course that’s just wishful thinking.

The landscape first is more of people's wishful thinking than actual rumors. The only rumors I've actually heard in what you mentioned is the Smart Connector and being able to charge through the logo via Magsafe.

That said, I'd expect the cellular models will remove the physical SIM card slot based on the iPhone 14 line removing it.

Short of 240hz OLED, nothing would make me want to upgrade from the 2021 12.9.

CPU power is not something people are asking for.
Better display is. Save on the CPU, pull the IMO useless for ipad secondary UW camera back out, focus on the primary user experience, the display. It should be focus number 1.
I'm itching for a new iPad, I want the USBC for direct connection to my camera. Itching for a storage upgrade.
Very sad it has the same mediocre quality grey-darks screen.

Every display at my disposal from TV, to Switch, to Phone, to my xps. Apple is languishing the "pro" ipad with the cheapest shoddiest worst displays they can source.

I'd even be fine with what I've seen reviewed of the miniLED.

I'm so ready for the leaks. Tempt me to replace my 2018 IPP.
I have a 2018 also and I was thinking I'd upgrade in October because for some reason 2018-me decided that 64 gb was enough and I've been living with that decision ever since. My 2018 has had absolutely zero issues though, no weird bugs or freezing or anything that I can recall, so that has made me hesitate to upgrade. This is probably the best Apple product I've ever owned in terms of consistent quality over the years. I keep telling myself it's finally time for an upgrade come October, but storage space is easily worked around, and this thing is a total workhorse otherwise. I'll be watching any new IPP news pretty closely for sure.

Same. My vice is shiny new gadgets but my 2018 IPP has been an absolute champ. I use it every day.

Just thought what would be my goto features in iPad. I will update my M1 in second if the new iPad is flippable. You can have iPad mini and 12.9 in one device. That would be cool! But probably it’s for 2030, lol

Would love Dynamic Island on the iPad, I get there isn’t much point as the camera stuff all fits in the bezel, but I love the interactions on the phone and the visual ques lol

Not a bad shout, I think I’d prefer widgets on the Lock Screen first, though. So much unused space… so much potential… and no hardware change required!
