In earlier versions of the OS the files for screen sharing where stored in: /Users/e/Library/Containers/com.apple.ScreenSharing/Data/Library/Application Support/Screen Sharing as .vncloc files.

I have noted that this no longer happens for new connections. Are they stored somewhere else? Or?

I ask as I had aliases of these files which made logging in faster. And yes, I know about the new screen sharing app in OS 14. But this is not fast, and I made a setting for my favourites but you cannot have the app open that setting, it always reverts back to the main screen.

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I didn't even have an alias; I always just clicked the file in my Recent Items because I used it almost daily. I'm hoping someone has an answer for us!

Hm. I was able to solve your problem, but not mine. If you click "Save As..." from the Connection menu while connected in a screen share session, it will allow you to store a .vncloc file anywhere you like.

Sadly, even after clicking this file to launch a new connection, macOS did not add it to the Recent Items menu like it used to. I may have to switch to your model!

Yes that works sometimes and sometimes not. I have no failsafe solution as of now. I di try that.

I just dragged the directory with the .vncloc files to my dock and I click on the appropriate destination file from there.

Good enough if you use some locations daily.

However, I create my .vncloc files manually - didn't even know you can get a list of connection/use save as on a running connection :)
