I figured with the M3 MBP being released, we would see a lot of sales for the M2 version. But all the sales I'm seeing are for basically the base models, and even these are only ~10% off. Aren't there any of the higher end M2 MBPs (16Gb RAM, 1Tb SSD) that stores need to get rid of? My 2016 MBP (original Touch Bar) is on its last legs.

I imagine the higher end configurations are BTO (build to order) so there isn’t stock. No stock, no units on shelves. Hence, no sales.

You could try B&H Photo in New York City.

They stock "custom-sized" configurations, and they may have some yet available.

BUT BE AWARE:
Some folks don't care for their return policy regarding computers.
Once you open the box, you CANNOT return it.
So you have to be sure that what you ordered, is "what you wanted"...

There are still resellers clearing out stock of M1 era MBPs (B&H is selling a fully loaded M1 Max 16” for $2800 today). That and the fact that M3 isn’t that dramatic of an upgrade over M2 specifically probably explain why there aren’t fire sales on the M2s yet.
