iPod where are the new headphones???

anyone still remember the two new headphones introduced by sjobs during the september music event? why still no trace of it getting onto the shelf? apple these days are really losing their reputation for keeping promises.

the mobileme's "excellent" file sharing feature was pulled, the 2.2 beta still sees no sign of push notification and now the new headphones still hasn't come out...

At one of the local Seattle Apple Stores today and one of the employees let me know the project for both sets of headphones was "scrubbed" for the year.
Kind of surprised so I just got the Bose earbuds instead. They are great though!

They don't have any idea about what Apple is doing. If the headphones were scrapped they will take them off the site, and not say... "Coming Soon"

Apple hasn't really made high-end earphones before, so I guess we can consider it a clean slate. Personally, I'm only buying these for the volume controls

well i can say that one good thing about apple head phones is their long lasting sound. i still have my old ones from 3 years ago and they still sound the same as when they were taken out of the package. sooo im guessing good for long life, just not good sound.

i plan to pick me up a bose inear headsets too myself

If you can't wait for Apple's new headphone and are willing to use the player to control volume, I'd recommend a good third party in-ear headphone. My choice: Creative EP-830, which is available for US$50. I really like it for its good efficiency and the fact unlike the lesser EP-630, the EP-830's bass is much cleaner sounding.

I think the Sennheiser ones aren't bad. Not sure why, just don't like Bose anymore despite the fact that this is the brand of my home Hi-Fi. And BTW a bit off topic, the B&W Zeppelin is just such a masterpiece that is clearly in a league of its very own! Seriously anyone who likes music and Hi-Fi ought to listen to it, for once in their life! Well, that said the price is also quite spectacular hitting £400 here in the UK which means I can't afford one...

Back to the topic, just don't know what's got into Apple's mind lately, if it's a production problem AGAIN, it's really time for their production manager to go for good, look at the delays of all the notebooks, the shortage of low spec MBA, LED display, iPods etc etc, and now the headphones, he really needs to be sacked!

After all Apple is just probably outsourcing to Sony or another company to make it I guess, no point investing in such technology or design at all, Jonny -> someone in Sony -> product.

It's November 21st. These were scheduled to be released in October.

I can understand the delay of iPhone push updates, because they are probably working out the kinks, but the headphones? I've heard that these have been on sale for weeks in Asia.

Seriously, if these don't come out today, I'm going to be extremely upset. I've been waiting for two months now, anxiously checking the website every Tuesday and Friday to see if they're out.

They're just not good at releasing products. I laugh at their competency concerning product releases.

Yep me too! My headphones are losing it's sound too (it's coming through the air holes on the outside -.-). I think I'll get those Bose headphones if Apple doesn't release theirs by Black Friday.. it's unacceptable if Apple doesn't release it before then.
