Radio silence from all the US carriers so far. In year's past, their promotions went live within minutes of the keynote ending. Typically led by something crazy from T-Mobile, which the other carriers would have to match to prevent churn.

I know T-Mobile lost a ton of $$$ on their last big trade-in offer (for the iPhone 7 upgrade), but they gained a lot of customers. Since they're trying to buy Sprint now, I imagine they can't afford to bleed the cash.

Anyway, I traded in my two family iPhone 6 phones for iPhone 7 straight up on AT&T...and haven't had a device payment in 2 years. But to upgrade now to the Xr or Xs is going to add about $100/mo to my AT&T bill...

I see 7's going on swappa for around $350. AT&T, Best Buy and the like are offering around $200.

So we will see Trade in deals but not till latter on today, for sure at 12:01 PDT when pre-orders open we will see them but we could see them as early as latter this afternoon.

This was John Legere’s tweet regarding T-Mobile’s trade in. This would be a dumb offer for me as I have $200 left to pay on my X and my device payments are $5.42/mo due to last year’s promo.

$300 back may not include the trade-in value. If the value for a 7 is, say, $200, then the pre-order trade-in promo could be worth $500 total

i doubt it. it's probably up to $300 for a qualified trade in.

It’s up to $300. The older your model is will depend on how much you get. Last year I didn’t trade in a device and still got a $300 credit spread over 24 months bring my device payments down to $5.42/month.

A bit confused here - if you got $300 for pre-ordering the iPhone without trading in a device, then it stands to reason that I could trade my iPhone in at the VZ offer, and in addition get the $300 that you did, i.e. $300 + $200 = $500 in promo credit total.

Am I missing something?

I paid my 7+ off before preordering the X and kept the 7+. I upgraded to the X without trading in a device and still got the $300 credit broken up into $12.50 per month for 24 months.

So I am not the only person who noticed the lack of deals so far. I am a Verizon customer. I have not yet decided what I am going to buy (either an Xr or a 256GB 8), being that I am not going to pay the Xs prices for 256MG. However, my existing 6s still works well, despite that the storage is maxed out and the battery weak for my usage. However, the best I can get as a trade from Verizon or even Apple so far is around $100. I got at least $200 as a promitional trade-in 3 years ago when I swapped my iPhone 5 for the 6s. If I can only get $100 for the 6s, I won't bother to trade it in the first place. I will keep it as a spare or turn it into an iPod Touch, to replace the aging 7 year old 4G that still lives in my car. I can even replace the battery for $29 if I do it before the end of the year. For a measly $100, why bother to trade?

Sprint has $750 trade-in deal for iPhone 7 and later. New and existing customers. Great deal if you're on Sprint. I hope other carriers (like Verizon) decide to match, but I'm not holding my breath.
