Where are user profile pictures stored?

hey guys, I'm on mountain lion, where are the default user profile pictures stored on the hard drive ? Like the different flower / animal pictures you can select as your profile picture, I want to save the pictures

These live in /Library/User Pictures, oddly enough, where the initial / refers to the root of the "Macintosh HD" or whatever your main boot drive is named.

I don't see a user pictures folder , closest thing I see is a user template folder ? But it has a red sign next to it..

Click on the Finder icon in the Dock. When the Finder window opens up in the left hand window pane (of the Finder window) select the 'Pictures' icon. When that folder opens up scroll down to the 'People' folder and there will be the profile pictures.

You're in /System/Library, not /Library.
