iPod Where can I find a dock extender cable?

I have a little project in mind and need a cable like this one:

I was hoping to find something with a smaller plug and a shorter cable and was also hoping I wouldn't have to buy the parts and put it together.

Anyone know of something like this?

CableJive has a 2-foot cable. It's not as short as you'd like, and the connectors are bigger, but means you don't have to do the work:

They will also make a custom length, like 6 or 8 inches, but is much more expensive:
