First item: Try a Search, we cover this about 5 times per week...
Second: You can only put in a 2 Gb SODIMM if your machine is a Core2Duo. The CoreDuo machines do not support the 2 Gb module.
Third: Where are you?
You want a reputable company that knows Macs, tests and guarantees compatibility, and offers a lifetime warranty and a no-cost exchange or return if it doesn't work.
If you are in the USA, then the most-recommended sites are Crucial (use the link at the top of this page), OWC (MacSales) and Data Memory Systems.
Thanks

What? then how can you put 3 gigs of ram in a MBP? it says 3 gigs on apples site.
Is eBay a good place to buy RAM?
Lets see:
From someone who you have never heard of before, whio uses an eBay account handle rather than a real name, address and phone number,
Who is likely (based on avreages) to close their ebay store/account within the year,
Who has virtually no standards of accuracy that they have to comply with,
Who will (again, on average) not be there when you need warranty service and you find out that the RAM manufacturer doesn't deal with consumers,
Who will not care what their reputation is in 3 years, because they will probably be operating under another name.
Oh yeah, a great place to buy RAM![]()
There are some reputable dealers on eBay, BUT there are many, many more unknown sellers.
I prefer to stick with brick and mortar firms that have been around for 10 or more years and have an investment in their reputation and integrity.
