I need to jailbreak my iphone because i accidently locked my SIM card when i moved to japan. i hope to get my 3G tomorrow but i want 2.0 on my jailbroke 2G iphone. i am downloading now but i am almost certain that it will lock up my iphone. i have heard of a jailbreak out already but can't find where to get it. can anyone help me?

The wait is painful
It would be fun to play with the new apps this weekend. I'm a 1st gen paying ATT customer but working outside of the country. If I install the update I'll be locked out from using my local SIM card. But I'm so anxious just to install it.
I'll be playing with the new apps all weekend so I won't need to receive any local calls, right? Too bad that friends/job will get very annoyed if I don't have a working unlocked phone come monday. Delay gratification, Delay gratification, Delay gratification, patience, patience, patience. This is going to be a long weekend nonetheless.

i am in the exact same position! i am contemplating putting my activated AT&T SIM in to use over the weekend and play around until the unlock is made available so i can use my local SIM again.
well tried the link above, i got outta the itunes connect screen and into DFU mode but i kept getting a 1604 error. I tried all combinations that it suggest i.e. with SIM/without SIM, changing USB ports and all.
any other suggestions?
