I'm getting my 3GS pretty soon and I plan to jailbreak it with purplera1n. BTW, I'm running windows vista. I know the RC2 came out for it, but where can I download it. When i go to the purplera1n website, the download file doesn't say RC2 on it, but is it the RC2? if not, where can I download it from?

i know, but is the one on that site RC2? Because when I click to download it the title is "purplera1n.exe" not "purplera1nRC2.exe". So that download on purplera1n.com is RC2?

is it normal for "freeze" to still show up after Cydia is installed?

i used the mac version to jailbreak a 3gs. worked like a charm. yes freeze stays there. you would have to use ssh to remove it. but i downloaded poof off cydia and hid freeze and then uninstalled poof and rebooted. ultrasnow worked as well.

cool thanks much.
i poofed Freeze with sbs as well.
The Purplera1n j/b worked nicely. Its nice to have SBS installed and see 150+ meg of ram available on the 3GS ;)

phone seems to be clipping along just fine. I see no change over stock speed (im sans winterboard)

i wish rotation inhibitor worked for 3gs, that was why i j/b, doh!

To remove Freeze (Not just hide it with SBsettings), install CyDelete from Cydia. Close Cydia then hold your finger on "Freeze" until it wiggles like the iPhone native apps. Click the "X" in the corner and Freeze will be deleted.

Did not work for me. CYDelete just tells me can't remove an application that was not installed via Cydia

Did you enable Non-Cydia Deletion in CyDelete after you installed it? If not, you can turn it on by going into Settings > CyDelete > Non-Cydia Deletion - ON.
