You can bring that back as well, using the info from the link above. I don't know why it is not on by default though!also used to be all trash folder which is now gone - so I have to go into each mail version and do deletes. Something they brought over from IOS that they shouldn't have
Thank you so much… I did click on the (+) but didn't scroll down to see that it was hiding there. This was annoying me as well, but this article talks about how to turn it back on:

This was super annoying and I'm really happy to have the "All Junk" folder finally restored.
Much obliged!

If it ain't broke, why do they keep "fixing" it and then not fixing the things in Mail that are broke. Like the block mail filtering that just never works and/or never sends messages directly to the Trash?...Yeah, that change annoyed me as soon as it arrived.
Luckily, I found the "combined mailboxes" under Favourites really quickly, but the fact the original mailboxes are still listed annoy me. What I mean by this is ... say you enable the combined inbox for all your accounts. Great! But the inbox is still listed under each account, and both get a "1" or whatever when new mails arrive. Grr.
It's been ages since this change and I've gotten used to it, but even so.
