Anyone want to share their secret buying spots for hot deals, or maybe just share where you prefer to buy your Apple items.

For some reason and I don't know why, but I prefer to buy directly through Apple whether it's on the web or in store.

If you have a hot spot why do you only buy there?

I normally always buy my computer online. The MBP is my first computer (first computer in my whole family) to be bought in store. I went to the Apple Store. I didn't really like the experience though, so next time I'll be buying from somewhere else (online).

If there are any promotions, then I'll be getting it through Apple Online.
If my next Mac is a refurbished one, then it will be online.
If its new without any promotions, Amazon ... maybe even bestbuy in store. (certainly not from Apple in store though)

I don't trust eBay even though they completely distorted and buying process. Amazon is too expensive.

Apple refurb store. I've had Apple people in the Stores tell me to go buy stuff from there. Plus, you get the year of AppleCare free.

For a desktop it is usually a mixture of parts from Newegg and Microcenter. As for Apple products. I usually buy faulty or physically damaged ones and repair them myself and save a lot of money.

My Macbook's total cost was far less than half the going used rate at the time. It just needed a new cooling fan and keyboard/palmwrest unit (which are dirt cheap on eBay). Plus it was stained with blue ink and heavily scratched. Nothing a sanding and clear coating would not fix.

Given how laptops CPU's have barely made any headway in the last four years. It makes perfect sense to buy a used one and save a lot of money. Only a small minority needs the extra GPU power of the GeForce 320M (which is still a pathetic GPU) or more than 2GB RAM.

For non apple stuff, I buy it newegg or microcenter. For apple stuff, the apple store or microcenter.

I used to think amazon had great prices but more often then not, I find they're more expensive and slower then most retailers.
