Where do you install non-Apple developer tools, like REALbasic or MonoDevelop?
I am trying to figure out the best install location and want to follow conventions if they exist.
/Applications
Doesn't seem ideal, as IDEs and Developer Tools are not technically "applications" and don't look appropriate next to MS Office.
/Developer
Seems more appropriate but what happens to subdirectories in /Developer when Xcode is updated or re-installed?
/Developer/Applications
Same applies. But is it better than the root of /Developer?
I currently have
/Developer/REALbasic
/Developer/QT
/Developer/Mono
Any suggestions?
