Ivegot all my files on my ipod ready to go onto my iMac (sitting in a depot 10 miles away, but ive got to wait till tomorrow to collect it [Insert expletives]  . Anyway, the files are a combination of pictures music and documents like microsoft Word (i will have office 2004 on my iMac). I want to be able to plug my iPod in (3rd gen, last with firewire i think, ad the one with the buttonsAND scroll wheel instead of the horrible-to-use new click wheel) and then just transfer all my files so that i still have my itunes playlists, my photo albums nd my subject folders (im an unusually organised GCSE student;) :p ). Is there an easy app that will do this? or do i have to manually drag & drop them into the respective folders. Sorry about teh lengthy answer and frustrating rambling . Thanks alot :D

Sorry but I think it's manually drag and drop time. :(

As for your playlists, to keep these you need to have the iTunes Library data file put back into your iTunes folder and your music folders put back to exactly where they were on your old Mac. If you reimport the music (drag it back into iTunes) then there's quite a high chance you'll lose your playlists (and play counts) even if you had iTunes organising your library.

Are you sure???

Really?? Its just the attached image shows files being put into 'Music, Video and Picture folders'. This suggests its possible to automatically place files in the correct folder. Or am i wrong??

I'm never sure about anything. Is that a third-party app or part of the system? I haven't seen it before. :)

Oh, and I'm reasonably sure about the playlist thing. ;)
