Hi everyone, hoping for a bit of help please, very strange problem..........

I have a Mac Mini server in the lounge along with an iMac in the study, over the Christmas break I upgraded both to OS Sierra as I had time to kill.

Something very strange has happened after upgrading the Mini - I use it as a Plex server and use my Harmony remote set up as the Apple Remote to control it, it's worked fine for years but after the upgrade nothing!

I did a quick google and found Apple's solution -

https://support.apple.com/kb/PH25509?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

Problem is, on the Mini if I go to advanced security settings I don't have the option there anymore! My iMac in the study has it but on the Mini it has just disappeared?!?!

Any ideas? Plex is no fun when having to use the keyboard for everything.

Cheers

was there a software / driver for the remote ? Maybe it needs to be re-installed after upgrade?

Strange that the option does not show for disable and pairing

No software needed, it's part of the OS and has been for donkeys years, it shows on the iMac in the study fine and the remote works up there also?

Very frustrating, poor show Apple!

Managed to sort this now, it would appear the Candelair plug in (recommended my Plex) messes up the OS under Sierra, I have now removed said piece of software and all is fine :)
