My Apple TV used to offer a huge library of films. Then, a few weeks ago, this was reduced to a few dozen. Why?

Do you mean the AppleTV iTunes store or your own personal library?

I have sent feedback many a time including an email directly to SJ  about the 'All movies' sections being removed in the latest ATV update. You can no longer browse All comedies, action, drama etc. only what they deem worthy of browsing. i.e. What we're watching. Who gives a **** what they are watching?

I usually buy my films by casually browsing and seeing something I like then making a purchase.

Basically now you need to do a search for everything, which more often than not brings up nothing after arsing about with the remote one character at a time. Unless you have memorised the whole iTunes store library on your computer its hit and miss whether you find what you want as iTunes may not have it.

I agree, I use to love to just sit there browsing the store on my ATV making impulsive purchases. But now it seems Apple just dosn't want my money anymore. Why did Apple remove the ability to just browse the whole library of movies, surely this must be costing them sales?

Exactly. Thats what I said in my feedback and the email. I used buy at least one new movie every fortnight just from browsing and seeing something I liked. Since the latest update I have bought one film.

Theres also loads of little inconsistencies within the interface that I also mentioned "Your purchase will be downloaded to My Films". There isn't a My Films section. It's My Movies! It just shows you that they really don't care about the ATV.

I've been given gift cards for spotting loads of things wrong with the store and the ATV, ranging from duplicate movies, duplicate movies with different artwork, missing store sections etc. Im not one for complaining and or emailing CEOs about stuff but the ATV experience is so frustrating I often end up sending feedback while in a pent up rage instead of watching a film.

Well, at least I know I'm not going daft. The guy at the Mac Store (white city, London) had NO IDEA what I was on about.

It's mad: I can see no good reason for removing them all. Thankfully I now have movies on demand with Virgin Plus. They get my business now instead!

Is this a UK thing? Because in the U.S. Store you can browse all movies in a particular genre. For example, if you choose “Action and Adventure” and navigate to the middle of the screen, you’ll get some select sub-genres followed by all Action and Adventure titles grouped into A-E, F-J, etc.

It’s fairly easily to understand. If you know what the movie starts with it’s easier to just go to search and type in the first letter of the movie title.

Well that sucks.... Your right I'm in the UK and I just switched my ATV to the US store and the US store is alphabetically browsable. Man Apple loves to screw us Brits over, crappy prices, crappy selection and now we can't even browse all the movies in the store.

Why would they do this? What earthly, conceivable, possible reason is there to do this? Which pin-head is responsible? I'd like to ask him or her directly. There MUST be a good reason...

Probably just a mistake on the UK store.

One of you needs to write a well thought out, professional e-mail to Eddy Cue, Apple’s Sr. VP of iTunes, and get it fixed.

Anyone know his email address or where I can get it?
