Where have the Desktop disappeared ?

Updated to Monterey - and there is no Desktop in Finder (Users - etc.). Why is it not there and how to get it there ?

This is all I can now see in Finder - Macintosh - Users - Me (I am the only user).

I had this; turns out I was using iCloud Desktop setup.

To resolve, as follows:
1) Load iCloud
2) Take off Desktop setup
3) Icons appeared within iCloud Desktop folder
4) Dragged icons to MBA Desktop

For me, the icons were present in the iCloud Desktop folder.

Using Finder, I then dragged and dropped from iCould Desktop to local desktop.

Try:

~/Library/Mobile Documents/Desktop

~/Library/Mobile Documents/Documents

Desktop and Documents are moved there when you have iCloud Drive enabled.

OMG - it is not there . Where is my previous desktop ? I had very important documents there ... ( And the site www.icloud.com can't be open - strange

Odd. Try opening iCloud.com some other way (it works just fine here). Go to iCloud Drive and check whether or not the data is still there. Additionally you can check iCloud Drive's Recently Deleted at the bottom.

I found it finally in Pathfinder in the folder iCloud Drive (I am relieved Strange I cannot see such thing in Finder.

But I find these icloud games a bit annoying ... Going to stop this icloud forever
