Is that because you don't think a good artist deserve compensation, or because you don't care that much how your desktop looks?brikeh said:Oh yeah I actually never thought of that as I never ever ever ever would pay for wallpaper myself. Never ever

brikeh said:None of the above, for starters I dont like Digitalblasphemys...well design. 3d rendered images just look tacky IMO, there will always be free nice wallpapers around. My favourites include. dlanham.com, deviantart.com, mandolux.com, twistedsun.net, interfacelift.com and a couple of others and I just find it stupid to pay for a wallpaper. If I ordered a print then thats a different story but a wallpaper...? Nope.
Edit: Typo
gekko513 said:I don't really see why it'd be stupid to pay for a wallpaper. I've never paid for a wallpaper because I don't care that much about it. It's usually hidden. My current desktop looks as in the attached image.
But if I did care a lot about my desktop and found a wallpaper that I really liked, I'd want to show my appreciation by compensating the talented person that created it, obviously with a lot of effort and thought going into it. This shouldn't be affected by the availability of freebies, or whether the artwork is printed or not.
