Because #batterygate only affected iPhones. Without that issue being covered by mass media, I doubt Apple would’ve included battery health on iPhones.
Well that is pretty cheesy. That battery health feature on the iPhone is pretty darn useful. Shame on Apple

If you have analytics enabled, one of the logs actually stores battery health and charge cycle count.

It's a pain to parse manually on the iPad but I found an iOS Shortcut that takes the log as input and parses it for you. It was on reddit but I can't remember which one I used exactly. Probably the second one. Some days, the log doesn't show the percent but you can just check on a different date.

hmmm, tried the last one and ran it on recent log on my year-old 2021 12.9. It showed 88 cycles and battery at 101%. Questionable results? Not sure.

I think it’s just normal. I’ve gotten similar numbers from iMazing. Besides, this pretty much just takes the values directly from the iPad’s logs.

iPhone
12 mini: 144 cycles, 87% (87% per Setttings)
SE3: 10 cycles, 102% (100% per Settings)

iPad
mini 6: 63 cycles, 102%
Air 2: 372 cycles, 86%
Air 3: 165 cycles, 95%
Air 4: 50 cycles, 102%
Pro 9.7: 494 cycles, 87%
Pro 10.5: 459 cycles, 84% (176 cycles, 94% back in July 2019 per iMazing)

I think a number of iOS devices likely ship with batteries at slightly higher max capacity than the design capacity. I think the highest I’ve seen for my devices was 107% (iMazing). This is probably why battery life starts feeling much shorter even at 90%.

My Mini 6 is at 27 cycles, 103%.

New thread: "Battery at only 100% - defective?".

log-aggregated is missing on my iPhone 12. How to generate it?

I added the shortcut on both my iPads, and located the log file in data analytics. I was 12 cycles and 104% on my 6 week old 12.9 M1, I was 277 cycles and 96% for my wife’s 1yr 9month 11 iPP.

I then tried to use the shortcut on my iPhone 11 but the battery shortcut would not appear when I hit share, until I powered down the phone and back up, then it was there. That gave 97 103% and 168 cycles. The battery health settings shows 97%. I just checked and the iphone was a year old last week.

the shortcut is free, and it does not use additional resources like the coconutbattery app. although I have used the free version on previous laptops years ago. You won’t find their app in the app store, not sure why?

Or a separate computer. I have iMazing on my PC but it's a major pain to go to the desktop to check battery health.

App Store = 30% cut on paid version or in-app purchase.
