Where is my battery health in iOS 11.3?

I’m pretty sure this is going to end up being a stupid question because I have missed something obvious, but why don’t any of my devices have a battery health section? I have an iPad mini 2, iPhone 5s and iPad Pro 10.5. I haven’t seen anything to say that it’s not available on these devices, but is it?

Not on iPads and only available on iPhone 6 and newer.

It's likely more that the performance/power management aspects of it all don't apply to iPhones prior to iPhone 6.

Or simply that it's a quickly put together feature that exposes some high level things and hasn't really been fully fleshed out just yet.

Well i have iPad Mini 4 and iPad Pro 10.5” their average battery usage is 10 hours or more, i don’t think iPad needs that because they have 2-3 times longer battery usage than iPhone Plus or even X series.

The reason the iPads don't need this throttling is because their batteries are large enough that they can still supply the maximum amount of peak current draw that the CPU and other components need, even as their batteries age. Similarly, the CPUs in the iPhone 5s and prior don't have the extremely large range (low to high) of current draw that the later CPUs have, so their peak current draw isn't enough to cause a problem given the size of their batteries either.

So it's not that Apple "isn't providing it", it's that it's not necessary for that hardware. If anything, it means that Apple's hardware design team made a mistake with the later iPhones and misjudged how small they could make the batteries for the required current draw of the new CPUs and other components as the batteries aged. It seems the iPhone X design may be better in relation to this because of its two battery cell design, where the current draw could be shared across both.

I’m not so sure about that. My 5s was exhibiting the exact same symptoms when the battery was old, sudden shut offs etc. I sent it off to have the battery replaced by Apple. I was fully expecting to pay but Apple very kindly replaced it for free with a refurbished unit.
