So I ordered mine shortly after it was released, and initially the projected shipping date was for the 21st of June.

To my surprised my order status was recently updated and shows that it was shipped out on the 7th (!!!)

What is stranger is my package is also indicated as being destined for Dubai. Should I be worried? I checked my order status and I did provide my correct address!

Well I do believe that Apple computers ship direct from China, so it could be a shipping stop on the way there? Does the tracking page say something like "in route to Dubai" or does it say something like "destination: Dubai"?

I dunno what Apple's tracking page looks like or what carrier they use, I buy most of my stuff at one of the local Apple Stores. Not that I'm regularly purchasing new computers.

They shipped mine via Fedex so my assumption would be his is coming via Fedex.

Well, i figured that there is no harm posting the tracking information so here it is:

http://www.tnt.com/webtracker/tracking.do?searchType=CON&sourceID=1&cons=439224420&navigation=1

Various enemies on this board might want to locate and kill me if that page somehow reveals my exact address, except my street address is shared by hundreds!

It does say it is headed for Dubai. This is the first time I have seen something like this, all this while our macs always come from their warehouse in Sydney.

Hmm, after rethinking it...China -> Dubai -> Australia seems like an awfully convoluted path to take for a delivery. Although, it is FedEx so I guess it's to be expected...

Best bet: Call either FedEx and give them your tracking number or directly call Apple.

:apple:

Edit: Well, no that definitely looks like your package's final destination is Dubai. Routing error? I'd call that shipping company ASAP, before your laptop gets lost somewhere in U.A.E.

Don't worry about it, It's normal.

You MBP will have probably got to Shanghai by now, after which it usually goes via Sydney to your nearest Capital City then on to you.

You'll have a brand new Mac in no time :)

The wait is so killing me, did you get the machine listed in your sig in Oz? How did it get to you so fast?

One of my apple deliveries showed Dubai as well, but it appeared after I had received it.... was an iMac not MBP...it must be a glitch with TNT..unless there is something going on the government isnt telling us ;)

hopefully yours arrives soon :)

Dubai, the mystical foreign land that all macs go.

But anyway yeah, seems like a TNT error.

Your site is much different from what I was using to track my order through TNT; go to http://www.tnt.com/country/en_au.html and enter your consignment number there, or use the order status page and the link in the Apple Store. Ordered mine Tuesday night [release night] and received it Friday morning, all Perth time. Wasn't a BTO. Here: http://www.tntexpress.com.au/InterAction/ASPs/CnmHxAS.asp?APK0073462

Oh, and mine said 20th of June when I ordered it, but Apple said it was just a generous estimate and that most were shipping this week.

The consignment number I got from Apple just does not work for the other sites apart from the international one. Really does makes me wonder.... perhaps Apple is sending it out to be BTOed in Dubai over the long weekend!

i really can feel your pain....sorry.

has anyone ever received an email from TNT asking if you received your delivery ok?

When my mac mini was delivered last month about a week later I received an email from someone at TNT asking if it was delivered ok. It was a bit sus since it went to my hotmail address which I never use anymore and has nothing to do with the account I bought the mac with. It did mention the exact consignment number tho. I meant to call the person who sent the email but never got around to it (had full details in her signature)...

just thought it was a bit odd
