This has been working since Xcode 16 betas and is definitely in the released versions of Xcode 16. I don't particularly find AI code gen *that* useful but I have "used" it at work for a while now. I only say "used" because the vast majority of time I don't feel like I get any benefit from it, but I have taken its completions a handful of times.

It requires Apple Silicon and 16+GB of RAM

It's been working fine for me and I haven't even gone out of my way to set it up. It was a little distracting at first, but I've found it pretty helpful after a while.

Running the latest stable version of Xcode and macOS (no betas) on an M1 MacBook Pro.

Predictive code completion has been released but it doesn't seams Swift Assist is release. Do you have an AI assistant in Xcode?

Sorry; I thought that was the same thing. Haven't looked for the other thing, just code prediction. As mentioned I don't care much for AI stuff so never caught the distinction. Excuse the misunderstanding :)

Now, this MacBook I am on does not have Apple Intelligence enabled - My home machine does, not my work machine here, so no clue if it works yet, there's nothing I can interact with in there yet, but it appears to live :)

Ok I see and doesn't work and I think has been delete in Xcode 16.2 bêta I don't see it.

Oh it‘s not the real one
It’s not the official, yes. However, it is intriguing, appears useful, a smashup of Code Completion and what Swift Assist could be — which is why I was curious if anyone tried it.

Anyway… I’ve been patiently awaiting for the .2 versions (e.g., macOS 15.2, iOS 18.2, Xcode 16.2) before updating, and will probably just continue to wait.

Any news on Swift Assist yet? I was hoping it would come today with all the .2 releases, but no signs of it yet.
