Same - I tried to follow the link posted on Twitter and it says it doesn't exist :/ So it appears the event may have been cancelled or "leaked" falsely.

All I remember hearing about lossless was it is coming to the HomePod mini later in the year. Seem to remember some mention of Atoms (which is lossless) coming to some music but don't remember any hardware.

Did you mean Atmos? Dolby Atmos is for spatial audio and not the same thing as lossless. They are two different things coming to Apple Music.

Yes I meant Atmos. Also Atmos is standard in Dolby TrueHD (lossless). It can be scaled/encoded in lossy Dolby Digital Plus. However Apple seems to suggest that Atmos can be lossless...... AND (not or) hear every detail with lossless audio.

On here they say:
“By default, Apple Music will automatically play Dolby Atmos tracks on all AirPods and Beats headphones with an H1 or W1 chip, as well as the built-in speakers in the latest versions of iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Apple Music will be adding new Dolby Atmos tracks constantly and will be curating a special set of Dolby Atmos playlists to help listeners find the music they love. In addition, albums that are available in Dolby Atmos will have a badge on the detail page for easy discovery.”

However they’ve already indicated that the AirPods won’t support lossless audio. So the atmos and lossless have to be two separate things.

Another thing, many iTunes movies on the Apple TV have supported Dolby Atmos for a couple years however it is not lossless.

I'm glad to find this thread as I thought I was going nuts trying to find it. Any idea when today the feature itself is supposed to drop in Apple Music?

Understand and AppleTV uses Dolby Digital Plus. I'm just going by what it says on Apple.com. Apple is ambiguous and seems confused about what they are doing or not with lossless. Damn sure don't have any good (or even bad) hardware plans in place.

Apple TV does use DD+. There are Atmos tracks for movies and TV+ and for streaming services like Disney+ , HBO Max, and Netflix. Those all use lossy Atmos encoded in DD+. Lossless Atmos for consumers would be on Ultra HD Blu-ray encoded in TrueHD.

Does anyone know if/when Existing Apple Music libraries will be updated to Apple Digital Masters? I subscribe to AM, when I look up an album I own, I see the Digital Master logo. When I look in my library it’s says see complete album then shows DM version. Purchased version shows as downloaded, the DM version doesn’t but when I click on download nothing happens. I have only checked on IPad and phone, not on my iMac yet.

Found the answer now that the options have been turned in settings. Anything previously downloaded will play at original quality.

Seems that you have to wipe downloads of playlists and re-download to get the lossless/atmos versions.
