I'm planning to buy gtx 980..but i need those drivers and cuda....where do i find it? The website doesn't have mac version for it.
bad performance? The drivers people use are Quadro drivers. It has beta support for 9 and 10 series. Just don't expect Windows level performance.
No official release drivers for any card since GTX 680.bad performance?
Edit: wait...so there isn't 980 ti official driver?
yikes. no wonder nvidia has 680 support. that's my current gpu.No official release drivers for any card since GTX 680.
If High Sierra is serious about gaming then maybe new drivers will become regular. BIG IF.yikes. no wonder nvidia has 680 support. that's my current gpu.

Is it just beta support? No official info on this matter
Officially they used the word 'beta' both times when Maxwell and Pascal were enabled. They want to sell more cards and keep Mac users in the loop for now. They aren't going to go beyond beta because they don't want to spend money on support, failures, replacements, etc.
If gaming takes off then driver situation will change. Nvidia will never need to release 'Mac edition' anymore because current and future Macs won't need boot screens installed in an EFI ROM. It's all about the drivers from now.

You need to be careful about who you listen to on this forum

Oooh. Yeah..i would be using heavy load though. YikesI wouldn't say 'bad' performance, but it's certainly not as fast as it is in Windows. This is down to driver efficiency and that the vast majority of graphically stressing apps run an ancient OpenGL API at the moment, instead of Metal.
The biggest issue you'll run into with a GTX 980 Ti is not driver support though, it's making sure it is getting enough power. 99% of the time it's fine - I can run GTA V or Max Payne 3 at 1600p at rock solid 60fps with all graphics turned up, for example. But if I run FurMark, the system will crash very quickly. So whilst games will probably be fine, be aware that any heavy GPU compute loads may well end up causing you headaches.

I had to put it off. Apparently, there wasn't' an "official" driver for it. I have to wait and see on sierra high os.Did you get your 980ti? I got the MSI 6GB and put it in a Netstor. Too many cards on board.
That was it? Lol o ok.^^^^But there is!!!!!! I posted the links for Sierra above!!!!!! High Sierra will be the same offerings modified for the new OS. Maxwell cards are supported back to El Capitan. Pascal limited to Sierra.
