Any Intel insiders know why Apple hasn't adopted the 2.33 GHz variant of Yonah? I thought it was because Merom was imminent, but now it could be a month or more away...

My theory is they're holding out for C2D 2.33 GHz. *crosses fingers*

I can barely stand it.

Yea, I'm sure there going to put 2.33 in Merom. There is not point for them to use 2.33 Yohan for like a month and a bit.

This also gives them a better way to update the MBP if it's on a tuesday... Saying it's now up to "2.33 Ghz" with new chips or soemthing.

Bingo. :) Plus if they choose too, Apple would still have 2.16 and 2.33 for future MB (non Pro) revs.

I don't think we will see the 2.33 Yonah because Intel has been rather aggressive in getting the Core 2 Duo out in time.

With Intel's recent success in turning over new chips fairly rapidly, this leads me to think that Apple will adapt their thinking when it comes to releasing updated specs on their computers. I don't think it will become as big of a deal anymore when Apple releases a minor bump to the processor as it has in the past.

Let's face it. During the prime days of the G4 we were all too eager when it was announced we got a 50MHz speed bump. It was pathetic then, and even more so in hind-sight.
