With all the shipping delays I wonder if we will get any decent selection before new year.

I just ordered this sleeve off of Amazon (Inateck Laptop Case Sleeve) just to have something in the mean time.

I've always used a hard click on case (inCase, Speck etc); but, now, I'm starting to think that I may prefer having the laptop protected inside the sleeve, and then clean and case'less when docked or on my lap or table. I'm pretty careful with my things, and I think that enjoying the laptop as is, may be a nice change.

* NOTE; i returned the 14" case and re-ordered the 13.3" see below post # 8 confirming this size.
The interior sleeve dimensions for the 14" model are slightly larger than those of the 14" MBP.

Case internal dimensions @ 35cm × 24cm × 2.5cm (13.7" × 9.4" × 0.9" inch) and the MBP 31.26cm x 22.12cm x 1.55cm (12.31" 8.71" x 0.61")

So, hopefully it's decent.
No affiliation or anything, hence no link.

I went for the 13.3" version of this case which has just arrived and it looks fine for the money (£17). the bumper around the edge is not as thick as shown in the Amazon photos but it will give some protection. It's sightly smaller than the 14" version, with internal dimensions 32.5 × 23 × 2cm (12.79 × 9 × 0.78in) and it fits my 14" 2021 MacBook Pro nicely. In fact, the Cote & Ciel case I bought at the Apple Store for my 2013 13" MacBook Pro also fits nicely but it lacks the pocket and has sightly less protection round the edges.

I'm waiting on the 13.3" version now. I returned the 14" as it was too big all around. Very well made however, hence my re-buy.
I'm not sure if it was available when I originally ordered, or if I was just not looking, but that 13.3" is definitely the way to go; so thanks for confirming while I wait for mine.

I ordered this. I'm starting to wonder about this order which hasn't shipped yet after 7 days. It's only $11 and I'm using it as a test to see if Aliexpress is legit.

I’ve been buying odds and ends from AliExpress for 6 years. Never had issues. If it doesn’t arrive in the set time of their guarantee, you can also get full refund. Which I’ve done before, just to have the item ever totally show up after getting g the refund so, win win.

Seems like these same cases are in stock with at least Amazon Canada. I might plunk down on one to see how good they are. Kiddo's taking her new 14" off to school overseas in a couple of months so some extra protection might be good.

More than at AliExpress but on my doorstep same day.

A search of "A2442" for the 14" model brings up a number of hardshell cases.

Finally got the 13.3” and I’m very happy with it. The 14” fits inside nicely, with just enough room to house the eventual hard shell cover I’ll get for it.
The included accessory bag is a nice touch; with internal pockets and plush padding.

I ordered this cover from Amazon and it arrived today. In all honesty, this feels very light and not very protective. It feels like it and the notebook will be damaged if a drop occurred.

I got the "ibenzer" one, which was the only one that came in quickly (a few days). My review here in the other thread.

I believe ALL the currently available hardshells on Amazon are completely THE SAME. Despite different branding, the ads are the same, the same grammatical errors, just different "brand names" (and prices). While I ordered the "Ibenzer" it didn't even come in a branded box -- just some no-frills packaging. I'm pretty sure the big names have just subcontracted to the few factories in China making anything right now with the right MBP 16" A2485 specs.

My current "hard shell" case is nothing more than a glorified scratch protector--to tied me over until the real protective hard shell cases start showing up, whenever that will be.

Do you have an Amazon link for this case (that you could PM me if you prefer?) I can't find one on Amazon like yours (with the zip along the short edge rather than the long edge) that is currently in stock in the 13.3 inch size, so just wondering if there's more somewhere, or if they've been snapped up already.

Also is that the black variant pictured? Looks lovely!

Here's the Canadian link
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B09B95TD8R/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

And yes, mine is the "Black gray" which is the only available color in that 13.3" size.

Mine had the zip along the top and the accessory bag isn't padded as buyusfear described. There seems to be a wide range of options for the Inatek cases and I only managed to track down the one mentioned by a specific search. Also, the padding round the edges is not as thick. I'm happy with it, though.
