Land of the Free-Waiting for Term Limits
I ordered my replacement on Oct 15th. I did this via Apple customer service after they insisted my 3rd MBP was indeed defective (long story) Anyway, I decided on the new Air (3 strikes) and ordered the 128 SSD, and awaited delivery when I heard the stores started getting the shipments.

So, quite simply put.. where is my shipment? It still says ships 3-5 days.

How are you seeing your orders fulfilled? Do I have options? Feedback welcomed...

Kthx

The SSD probably slowed down your order quite a bit.

Alright,

I need some advice.

My order appears as "ships 3-5 business days" They insist that it will ship when it ships. My issue is that others are ordering and getting tracking numbers the very same day.

Who do I call, as my rep at Apple is not doing much in the line of assuring me it is indeed in the system correctly.

This is a MBA 1.86 128 SSD. My order is actually a replacment order via Apple, and cannot be picked up from a local store.

I am not understanding this, so anyone who has experience I would be greatful in hearing your advice.

We both appear to be in the same situation, I ordered my MBA (1.6GHz/SSD) on the 15th of October as well, it said shipping date was 5th November, when the 5th came around it suddenly changed to 3-5 business days. It is unfair that some people are literally jumping queue by getting their tracking numbers the same day while we wait for almost a month and still no tracking numbers. It is irritating, especially since they have already deducted the funds so I am pretty stuck.

ALLLLLLLL HDD versions are going to be late. Yours is custom so it may take longer.

All I know is, I am going to wait till the screen bug is GONE. After that the AIR is MINE!

Please take note: mine is not the HDD version it is the SSD version, I know the 120GB HDD version is delayed by what three weeks? Mine runs the 128GB SSD

Although you did mention that being a custom it may take longer, that could be a valid point.

Again: this is not the hard drive version. 2nd. there is no custom build, it is 1.86 ghz 128ssd period. Nothing to add/take away.

What do you mean by this? I was able to customise (customize) my 1.6GHz air to have the SSD, even bump the processor to 1.86GHz version (which I didn't). Are you referring to the higher end model, it may be because I started out with the 1.6 model not the 1.86 model.

if it is stuck in shanghai still with FedEx it is because the new Macbook Air cannot currently be shipped to residential addresses through FedEx International, its a customs things, and has nothing to do with either apple or fedex. It either has to go to a retail location or dist. Center. FedEx will be forced to give Apple 10 days to comply or the unit will be destroyed. I work for FedEx by the way.

I ordered on 30th October and the online status is
"Not Yet Shipped" but the estimated shipping date is (and always was) 5th November 2008 for delivery on 12th November 2008.

It hasn't shipped yet and it's overdue! Just ship it already!

(I'm in Australia, not the US).

Wow, what's up with that? Mine is going to a business address btw, but I don't even have a tracking # so I do not believe this is a FedEx blame at all.

But this is interesting... care to elaborate?

You still haven't told anyone where you live? Okay, it's going to a business address, what country and city is that in?
I ordered the Macbook Air 1.86Ghz/SSD on the morning of Nov 4th and I got a tracking number that same night. It shipped the next day on the 5th and it's in transit right now to be delivered to me by Monday.
I live in the U.S in California. It may depend on where you live.

Wasn't withholding that info- did not think it was important.

Troy, MI- USA Business address. As stated ordered 15th Oct. Still says, ships in 3-5 business days (no date on when it will ship) Also, it is the 1.86 with 128 SSD, with no special order of any kind.

Just a quick status update: My 1.6GHz / 128GB SSD Air has according to Apple, shipped. I haven't received a reference number yet. Hopefully I shall get it shortly. My Air was optimised for battery life rather than performance so I hope to be able to keep you guys posted on further developments.

On with the constructive discussions :D

Congrats on your shipping. Mine... ships 3-5 buisness days.

Somehow I feel this is stuck in a black hole not to ship until rev 3.

I am going to reply to this forum as to how my MBA performs when it arrives so maybe that may help you solve your problem.

How is replying to the forum on how your MBA performs going to help the OP's shipping issue?

I was assuming that he was referring to as to whether or not to purchase a new MBA. Hopefully a I get a positive experience which I can forward to him.

I apologise if my assumption was incorrect and if there was any confusion.

Others are getting tracking numbers the very same day - not the same as getting products delivered the same day.

When I ordered my iMac a few months back, I got "ships 3-5 business days" as well, which appeared for several days. One day, about the fifth time that morning I had checked, the status said, "On truck for delivery" or something like that, with about four checkpoints in between "ships 3-5 business days" and "on truck for delivery."

My point is just because the shipping status hasn't been updated online, that doesn't necessarily mean nothing has happened to it in the meantime. Give it a few days.
