Is there such a thing as a dell store?? are there any other stores that would have the 2005FPW at an outrageous price?

Yes there is one in the laguna hills mall in laguna hills california.
:)
And they had one last time I was at that mall which was 6 months ago.

I doubt there are very many Dull stores... the way Dull works is to cut of costs by doing away with retail outlets and selling directly to their customers.

Even their TV commercials here (in Australia) direct us to their webstore rather than "your nearest Dull retail store".

I don't really see anything wrong with buying it online; Dell has a pretty damned good level of LCD quality, and a nice return/replacement policy regarding dead pixels.

why order it online when I can pick it up in store and have it right now?? Its not that I doubt the pixels or anything.. if I'm going to buy it, I would rather do it in person. Just b/c its 2006 doesnt mean I don't have to hit the store to pick up my product... its between school and home... works out.

Well, Dell has a particularly... absent retail strategy.

Your first post is what bothers me... are you saying you WANT to pay an outrageous price? Or was it simply a typo / missed word?

If you've got the money to burn, I guess you can go for it, but I bought my first 2005FPW (I want 3 or 4 total for my computer), I got it for something like $398 give or take maybe $15. Wait around for the coupons and such, and you can get a pretty good deal on it. It's an AWESOME LCD, I love it... I just wish I had the money to get 2405FPWs instead.
Check www.dealnews.com for when the coupons come around. The site gets heavily updated multiple times daily (though more sporadically on the weekend).

Sorry to break it to you, but I believe that the locations that were linked are "dell direct stores" which means that you go there and have the dude at the kiosk order it for you online. It even advertises "bag free shopping" meaning you don't actually come home with what you pay for I guess, and I don't see how this would be something you advertise. If you look at the picture on that same link you can see that they have all the stuff set up to look at, but you can't really buy any of it there because they don't stock it in the cart. The only thing I think you could POSSIBLY buy would be like a Dell jukebox or whatever.

So yeah, buying something from a dell store is just a worthless extra step in the process.

If anybody has actually been to a dell store that allows you to buy stuff and leave with it, please let me know.

I haven't seen a full retail store for at least four years.
