Where to buy internal ssd for nMP

I don't think you can buy them separately at the moment. Wait till 3rd parties like OWC come out with an upgrade. Till then, you can only upgrade through apple with your initial purchase.
Now what did you expect if you ask that question in an Apple Store. That they would give you a link to some kind of website they don't cooperate with and have you upgrade something they want you to upgrade at initial purchase?
And what the kind sir above said, they're not available yet.
Visit a service provider and prepare yourself for a shock. Likely available as a replaceable part from the service center.

Yeah, it's mostly a time question. If you're in a hurry, it will be service part or sell/buy the whole thing. There should be more options in a year or two. Option 3 is going external to tied you over, like the little big disk.

There are two auctions on eBay, just do a search for mac pro late 2013. I do not know if these are truly the same drives Apple sells. The seller has posted pictures. I have asked for current owners of the nMP with 512 and 1TB SSDs to post photos of their drives but no one has obliged me as of yet.
In the interim I purchased a Sonnet Thunderbolt 1 (free upgrade to Thunderbolt 2 in the works, they ship you a card and do an exchange )PCIe enclosure and the Sonnet Tempo SSD card. I have a Samsung EVO 840 1TB, it boots and performs well. I can wait now until OWC releases their drive or I may never upgrade. This set up is plenty fast enough for me.

I looked at those auctions, I thought I read somewhere that the MacBook Pro and macpro used a different one so it concerns me that it is for both
While the ebay offerings look like official Apple parts, one thing is quite noticeable when comparing the 1TB size to the 512GB size: connector is the same, but the overall width is quite a bit larger on the 1TB.
I conclude that this may be an issue if attempting to install 1TB inside the Air, MBPr, or iMac. Will have to study the MacFixit photos a bit more closely. Lots of room inside the Mac Pro, though.

I ordered a 512
The seller has agreed to a return if it is not a 4 lane PCIe 2.0 module and or is not compatible. I decided against the 1TB because I don't think my current shroud is wide enough. The iFixit photos are of a 256 module. I have emailed OWC to ask them for a photo from their machine which I think has the 1TB module. I am assuming that the system profiler will confirm how many lanes the module has?? For sure I will do a performance test on it if it works for comparison to my 256 module.
