Where to buy MacBook Air 5-Point Screwdriver, link?

I saw ifixit.com sold this item, but now its out-of-stock indefinately.. I would really like to buy a MacBook Air 5-Point Screwdriver (for the bottom plate on my MacBook Air 11.6') as soon as possible, but can't find one on the net. I anyone know of a webstore that sells this screwdriver, a link would be very much appreciated.

Radio Shack sells a good general electronic screwdriver kit - has hex, torx, phillips, etc. for about $10.

I been searching for a while as well. The reason it's difficult to find because unlike the MBP's, the Air uses security screws. Apple doesn't want you to get inside the computer. My guess is because there's really nothing official that you can upgrade in it. That 3rd party SSD doesn't count as it's not fully tested and approved.

I just received my "MacBook Air 5-point Pentalobe Screwdriver" from iFixit.com and tried it out on my late '10 MacBook Air. It seems like there's an awful lot of slop in the fitment between the driver and the screw head...so much so that it seems like the driver would easily round out the screws. In other words, the driver seems too small for the screws. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Maybe there's a different driver that would fit better?

How did it go? Did u manage to remove the screws ok? I've been using torx screwdrivers for a few years now for various applications and the whole reason for their use in the industry is for their very precise/variable torque setting when fixed, and they 10 times out of 10 fit the screw heads like a glove so this is definatley something I am concerned about. I was going to place an order for one.

If u could supply any sort of pics that would be great.

After some research, it seems the tool needs to be a Security Torx TS, size 5 / TS-5 .
Those are the 5-lobe security Torx, as opposed to the regular 6-point security/ non-tamper torx tools .

I haven't found or tried one, so take it with a grain of salt.

Voiding The Warranty

Does Apple have any way to tell that you have taken the MBA apart? (Which technically would void the warranty)?

I'd like to take mine apart just to take a look at it (but I don't want to take a chance of voiding my warranty).

Same here... I used it to fix the creaking, now my screws are slightly damaged

That's not a Torx Security screwdriver, size T5, that's needed to remove the bottom.

I got my screwdriver in today and have already used it.

I have no further use for it, as I just used it to look inside and clear out any debris.
