so I'm going to be buying a laptop or something from apple real soon, I've got $800 in paypal and I'm going to be gettign a $1500 check from UPS, however I dont have a credit card (I have a paypal debit card and I've got a debit card for my bank with a $500/day daily limit. So I was thinking I could buy a $2400 mastercard/visa gift card and use that on apples website, but Idont know where to get one, any ideas? my original plan was to deposit my $$ into my bank account, and then transfer $500 a day into paypal, but I have to wait for the $$ to clear in my paypal account, which can take from 3-5+ days...

Go to Walgreen's or other such national drug store chain. They typically have a card that cost around 10 dollars and then you can put as much money on it as you want.

I know by me, RiteAid has them as well as Eckerd.

Why not just use a regular credit card? (It seems you're running around it for some reason)

Simon Malls--go to the Information desk and request a Visa Gift Card. There's a service fee of $2 or so.

I'm pretty sure you have to order over the phone to do that.
I'd see if there are 2 credit card spots first.. I'm not 100% sure about it.

but you can definitely do it on the phone. :)

great idea! I never think of doing it over the phone... I'll just do that and use my visa gift card for the total amount its worth, and the rest on paypal and if theres $$ left over its right in paypal.

another question, I live in vermont and there are no Apple stores here, will I pay tax? it says estimated tax (wich is 6%, which is the VT state Tax) but since there are no Apple stores (only one apple re-seller, Small Dog Electronics) will I end up paying tax or not?

Yes. If you have a state sales tax, you will pay it. Why Apple does this when they have no brick-and-mortar presence in places is a long-running sore spot. However, you would be legally liable to pay the sales tax (use tax) on the item whether the vendor charged you for it or not... There is a nice little box on your state tax return just for that purpose.
