Well i've searched around and didnt come back with anything i was looking for.

Im trying to buy a powermac g5 for the holiday, but i don't have enough $$$ to get a brand new one. Im trying to find an alt. legit place to buy a powermac besides the apple store and eBay.

thanks.

some of the apple stores will sometimes have opened box items for sale. the best time to check would be right after christmas. might be able to pick up a sweet deal...

^what would i do about that? Would i just call compusa and ask if theres any used open macs?

i hope so. I've had a PC my whole life, never had a mac before. I wanna make the switch now just cause i think mac is finally at the point where it needs to be in the consumer world.

I do alot of editing so im hoping i can score a dual processor to help with that rendering.

The one to wait for -- sweet pricing point and all -- are the Apple Refurbs Dualie 1.8ghz's. They were going for $1299 a few weeks back and will fly off the shelves when they reappear. Check early!

I suggest amazon.com. I think you can get a 250 dollar rebate too!

Yeah, I agree. You could save a good amount on a new machine and wouldn't have to pay tax or shipping. I recommend Amazon.com

Shipping is now $15-$20 on all Powermacs at Amazon. Not so hot.
