any such thing as better ram than another brand or faster ram because of the brand or are all brand ram the same/dependable?

Here's what you want. 4gb chips for $144 from eWiz.

I got 2 of these and they're sensational.
Many stock Mac's have this brand onboard.

thats $30 more than I would spend -- and a 1 year warranty??!?? -- PASS.

ram keeps going up, this was $112 a couple of weeks ago:

As long as whatever you buy has a lifetime warranty and no silly return fees, then thats fine. Hells link to newegg for $102 is about the cheapest.

Also, Super Talent has a limited lifetime warranty on their RAM just like the OWC.

The 1 year thing was just from eWiz.com. The RAM chips are still covered by the Manufacturers warranty.

I don't think there's any such thing as "Mac compatible" RAM. as long as it's 1067 DDR3 SODIMM, anything will work.

Actually not. Usually it will but I've heard cases where it hasn't. If you check NewEgg, there is a separate Mac memory category and I doubt it's there without a reason. To avoid any issues, get RAM that has been proven to be Mac compatible

I still respectfully disagree. :) Those sections are designed to make you pay more for the same thing...

I know that wasn't a great "evidence" but it's still recommended to check that it's compatible with Macs. There doesn't have to read Mac compatible but searching from net or asking from seller/manufacturer is not big thing to do  It sounds stupid but I've heard people having correct specced RAM but it haven't worked. MOST "non-Mac" RAM will work though

It's crazy to think that I paid $55 (shipped) just one year ago for two 2GB sticks of this RAM...
