I was hoping the Xs would still be sold but at a reduced price upon arrival of the XI. It looks like Apple will no longer be selling the Xs. Where else can I buy the Xs unlocked and without a contract? I'm referring to authorized resellers, not random people on eBay, etc.

Best Buy sells unlocked iPhones.

However, be aware of Apple's Flex policy. The Flex policy applies to third party resellers of unlocked devices and locks those devices to the SIM card of the first inserted SIM.

This can come as a very rude shock if you've bought an unlocked phone only to find out it's locked.

A way around this is for the first SIM inserted to be a Verizon SIM. After that you should have no problems.

iPhones sold as unlocked direct from Apple aren't subject to this.
