Is there a difference from buying a Mac in an Apple Store or (BestBuy, Amazon, etc...)?

I mean, if I buy in BestBuy, I can still go to an Apple Store for support and they won't charge me anything? (I would buy the AppleCare obviously)

And one last question: If I buy the Mac in Mexico (and buy AppleCare also) can I recieve support from the USA Apple Store? Because Apple isn't that big in Mexico, and they don't have the best support neither.

Thanks,

In general, optional Applecare only applies to the country it was purchased in. Check the terms and conditions, and it may be worth an inquiry to Apple Customer Services what their policy is.

Well, you may find the Apple store limits your options somewhat. Personally, I find very poor customer servive at the Apple Sore, and would prefer to buy my stuff where I am treated better.

In my case, when I discovered I needed to upgrade my computer (well within the first 14 days), I was still charged a lousy 10% restocking fee to trade a 17" for a 20". Other stores allow you to upgrade for free, and allow a lot longer window. They certainly do not PENALIZE you for spending more money! ANyway, custopmer service can vary, I recommend going where they do treat you well, and the places with the best policies for you.

Also, prices at Mom and Pops, Amazon and CompUSA can be better (sometimes MUCH better!) than Apple Sore- Most places will negotiate a bit if you ask.

Global support is included for portables with AppleCare.
