Where to download 1.1.1 firmware restore pack from?

You need to option-click on Restore in iTunes, and then choose the zip file that you downloaded. (Don't unzip it, just point iTunes to the zip file) Then it'll restore your phone to 1.1.1.
 
Yeah took me a while too but i just needed a restore not downgrade. Good luck with it guys.
 
ha already have the original from apple, The new one you can't use the tiff exploit on. I restored my 1.1.1. so I still have the original firmware. I forund it digging around in my computer.

In the one linked to from Apple's site? I just restored with that and used jailbreakme.com to activate! Worked perfectly!
 
is it possible to update an free (activated, jailbroken, anysim etc.) 1.0.2 to 1.1.1 with this restore firmware and jailbreak, active anysim it with jailbreakme.com again??

This is my question as well.
I have 1.0.2 I want to update to 1.1.1
But iTunes only lets me go to 1.1.2. I can't jailbreak 1.1.2
So how do I update my phone?

Download the 1.1.1 ipsw firmware.
Put your phone in restore mode.
Shift/option click and point to the downloaded firmware.
Off you go.

When i just tryed to get the unzipped file, the choose button is grayed out. am still doing something wrong?
 
When I download the file, it comes up as 8 random letters and numbers, and is a .exe file, but my computer thinks it is a MPEG file, any one know what I need to do?
 
Just yesterday I went from 1.0.2 (AnySim unlocked) to 1.1.1 jailbreak / AnySim 1.1)

It was the first time I reflashed so was a little nervous but all went well. Here's what I did:

Sync with iTunes so it saves all SMS, notes, etc for Restore later. I used a China Mobile prepay SIM so no need for the AT&T original.

Virginize 1.0.2 including Baseband so it is in an 'out-of-the-box' state - this simple guide:

Once done, download the 1.0.2 firmware

Used iTunes 7.4.2 Opt-click Restore to 1.0.2

Next download 1.1.1 firmware

Again Opt-click and go to 1.1.1

Now phone needs activating via jailbreakme.com and then unlocking with AnySim 1.1 using the steps here:

Then install SummerBoard and go custom app crazy. I was most concerned about fixing the baseband as there are lots of guides with masses of text to input but using i.unlock.no 'The Virginzer' via Installer was just a few touches then done.
 
Thanks so much for the link, I have been looking for that link forever. Screwed up my phone which is 1.1.1 still but all i can find is 1.1.2 :(
 
Does the downgrade work for the Touch? I really need to know so I don't screw up bigtime. Also, if anyone could guide me through the process thoroughly, that would be great, because the instructions that are most used are waaay too complex for my brain to figure out.....
 
How to downgrade the Touch to 1.1.1

I also need help trying to get my Touch downgraded- when I upgraded iTunes yesterday, it sent my hacked ipod Touch into restore mode. So I had to restore my ipod Touch to completely new, unhacked state. Now I can't use the jailbreak hack I used before because my Touch is running 1.1.2... So i'm seeing that I need to downgrade my Touch to 1.1.1 first. Thanks to the info here, I tried to open Safari on my Touch and point to the http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite... site to download the 1.1.1 firmware but I get the message that the server can't be found. Do I download this onto my Mac first? Help... I can't figure this out.

Got the 1.1.1 firmware installed on my ipod Touch

Thanks anyway,
Got the 1.1.1 firmware installed & was able to downgrade the Touch now. It seems I was trying to install the 1.1.1 firmware for the iPhone, not the iPod before.

You must go to the link on your PC or Mac. Then you wait for the program to download. Open iTunes (w/your iPod plugged in) and where it says update, you will then HOLD the Option key or the Shift key and click it. Then you will browse through until you see the program you just downloaded. http://www.touchdev.net/wiki/Jailbreak_1.1.2

every time I try to downgrade, I do get the error 1015, but my phone shows the new Itunes screen with the plug and iTunes disc, so jailbreak.jar just locks up. I am using Itunes 7.5 I would appreciate any help.

Be veeeery careful, I used Jailbreak.jar after quitting iTunes, it rebooted and now I'm stuck at 'SIM Locked' no way to get anyfurther....
EDIT : Found out how, delete iTunes 7.5, install old version of iTunes (7.4.2), re-install firmware 1.1.2, delete iTunes 7.4.x, re-install iTunes 7.5, re-activate iPhone. Phew...
