Where to download a 3.1 ipsw for the iPhone 3G?

Hello,

Can anyone point me to where I can download a 3.1 ipsw? No mac around, so I can't jailbreak the thing--and I updated without checking the current status of redsn0w/quickpwn/a windows version of PwnageTool.

If you can verify that the ipsw is functional, even better.

I know...but I'd feel more comfortable with someone's ipsw on MacRumors.

Well in that case.

Ask someone credible on here with a Mac to create the firmware for you.

If you can't, find a friend with a Mac and ask them to make it.

Your going to have to downgrade from 3.1 to 3.0.1 first then jailbreak it before you can load up the 3.1 jailbroken ISPW.

Goolge Downgrade iphone 3.1 to 3.0.1 and it should give you a link with a walk through.

You do not have to be JB on 3G to use a PT custom restore IPSW thru iTunes. The JB requirement only applies to 3GS.

Just restore to official Apple 3.0, select set up a neww phone, to get rid of old JB gremlins.

Then run iTunes, shift click to custom IPSW (Don't choose wrong IPSW)

If this is possible, after you update to the pwned 3.1, will iTunes ask you to set up the iPod as new or if you want to restore from a backup?

Because I successfully downgraded to 3.0 to jailbreak, but I couldn't restore to a 3.1.1 backup, not the actual firmware, because the backup was too new for 3.0. So I ended up back to official 3.1.1.
