Hello, I need help from dear Londoners. I'm visiting London for a couple days next week. I'd like to buy a brand new Nexus 5. However, since I'll be staying at a hotel, I can't order from Google Play Store. Where can I buy a Nexus 5 from a physical store in London?

Thanks!

Try car phone warehouse - http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/ They have stores everywhere and you can even order online and have it delivered to store where you can pick it up.

Another option is PC World. But neither Carphone warehouse nor PC World seem to sell the 32 gb version.

If that's the one you want, you could order from Amazon and get it delivered to an Amazon locker, or to a Collect+ Store.

Thanks for your help fellas! I looked into both, they seem great.

Another thing, on Amazon Nexus 5 is sold less than on Google Play Store. Is this possible? If so, how is it possible? Is it safe to order this item?

Thanks.

I would not buy from Amazon because your phone will come from a third party seller and usually they are peddling grey market imports which is why they're cheaper.

Carphone Warehouse shouldn't be a problem though, they sell them SIM free for the same price as Google last time I checked. Only issue might be low stock but the shops are everywhere so I'm sure you'll be able to find one.

Very safe, I buy from Amazon all the time, including my recent N5. If you make sure the seller is Amazon.co.uk then you'll be fine. Brand new device, no funny business. I know they're out if stock at the moment so it is only 3rd party sellers. I only buy from Amazon as a seller. Yes, they regularly undercut manufacturer prices.

Just had another look at Amazon as my brother wants an N5. Still out of stock as amazon.co.uk as the seller. Don't be tempted by third party sellers, some are excellent and I've bought retro games from them but don't risk it with a brand new phone. You want the peace of mind with amazon's excellent customer service. I've regularly returned/ exchanged high value items, they make it as easy as possible for the customer, that's why I'm happy and much more confident in giving them regular business.

Check O2. might be worth phoning around and see if there are shops nearby selling them.

Trouble is, those phone shops are thiefs, charging stupid money for it on PAYG

Would it be unlocked if bought from O2 (or any other carrier)?

I honestly don't know .. I would say no, given Google doesn't even sell it locked - but I won't be able to confirm to be honest. You don't really have anything to lose - just take your sim into the shop and try it there .. or maybe hit google to find out if people noticed it is locked.
