Are you an AIGA member? It's a bit expensive if you're not a student but it's a good way to find jobs.

My college sends out job related emails almost everyday. If you're in school their might be a similar resource available.

coroflot.com

creativehotlist.com

check those out. they specialize in creative professionals listings. you can refine your searches to specify entry-level positions.

Think about working for a printer instead of a design firm.

Upside: You'll learn both prepress and have an opportunity to do design.

Downside: You'll have to handle a lot of crappy files submitted by others.

However, the exposure to those submitted files will give you a thorough understanding of what works, what doesn't and how to construct rock-solid design that prints well.

Of course, if working for a printer is below you... because you are a designer, than I can dig it. I guess it depends on how bad you need the work.

Networking.

All of the above are great suggestions, but the easiest, most effective way to get an awesome job is to "know someone." Sucks, but it's true. All of my "creative pro" friends get work through knowing the right people. Not saying you can't if you don't, but it helps. Alot.

That being said, craigslist is largely useless. Unless you want to work for free, with "prospect of paid work in the near future".....
