my friend for the first gen to get unlocked (which can be done for free) they are charging 200usd imagine for the 3g ??? probrably 300 or 400 usd which is why they dont put a price on their website, it is not worth it , just wait for a month or two for the dev team to come up with the code

To be honest what the Brazilians have done isn't really that cleaver.

The SIM unlock but the SIM devices have been very popular for a long time (especially in Europe)
All you need to know is when the handset asks for certain information from the SIM (lock/IMSI information) if you know when the handset asks for it you can program the device to give the info. been happening on BB5 Nokia's and the old iPhone for a long time. I'm sure it wouldn't change much from the original iPhone.

The Dev team do a good job at a proper unlock in my opinion (all be it a patch of the firmware)
