Hello everyone,

I am looking to upgrade from my MBP 2011, and I’ve been seriously considering switching to Windows because Apple is becoming too greedy and pricing me out, and while the recent iMac got me excited, the soldered down SSD pissed me off too much... with that being said, the only things that I use my computer for is Logic Pro X and Final Cut Pro X, and I can’t really switch to Windows because of those two programs and because of Apple’s trackpad (it’s way too good, and I can’t use a mouse because of my wrist problems).

So because I want to be able to upgrade my SSD and RAM, I was thinking of getting the version that came before the latest iMac 27”, so I think that would be 2019? And now the question remains, where could I get it, the 2019 27” iMac with the best processor? I don’t want a used one either. Amazon didn’t have the one with the best processor.

Side question, would getting the new 27” iMac and just installing the OS on external SSD with Thunderbolt 3 be better than getting the upgradable iMac 27” 2019?

Best Buy has 2019's listed for the same price as the new equivalent 2020's. (Probably not a best buy)

B&H also has some models at a super small discount to 2020.

Id honestly just go with a 2020.

Costco has the base 27" i5 with the 570x video card for $1599.97 in their stores. not a bad deal
