I have a week 7 MBP with all the Rev. A imperfections, but the only one that really bothers me is buzz from the broken screen inverter (easily distinguishable from the CPU whine by its dependence on the screen brightness). I've been holding off sending the machine in because of the horrible stories of people getting their MBP back only after 3 weeks without most things being fixed but with scratches on the aluminium. I need my computer most of the time I'm awake. So my question is: has anybody had their screen inverter replaced inside an Apple store or at another authorized facility? If yes, how long did you have to wait and was the result satisfying?

Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences.

PS: I called an Apple store and asked whether they would replace the broken screen inverters and got the reply that they can not tell me whether they can.

I guess the lack of replies suggests that one can only get the screen inverter replaced by sending the MBP to Apple ?!

how long to wait for a replacement MBP screen inverter?

as I'm getting only replies that classify as rude, perhaps it's time to change the title of my thread. So I'm interested in experiences from people who had their screen inverter replaced *anywhere*. How long did this take and was the result satisfying?
