Lets start the predictions:

Its 2018 you walk down to your local apple store what do you see out on display?

You go to a coffee shop and what kind of computers do you see?

Do we still all have iPods?

Where is steve jobs?

What about the Apple TV?

and the iPhone?

is OS 11 at 11.4 by now?

do mice as we know them today exist?

what about iTunes 44?

and what will be revealed at WWDC 2018?

lets start the speculation!

It's incredibly hard to predict that far into the future... all I'll probably be able to come up with are things that will most probably end up getting implemented a whole lot sooner, if at all.
I'm not very tech-savvy so expect this to sound like a bad sci-fi.

Where will Steve Jobs be? On a rocking chair listening to music on his implanted iPod.

Maybe laptop screens will be projected by then, as opposed to having a solid existence.

Somehow I think that mice will still be around though, but will not be as heavily used due to the amount of tactile interactiveness everywhere.

iTunes can tell if the file you're trying to import has been downloaded from a torrent or P2P service, and will deny integrating it into the library if it has. Hence it won't be used by a lot of people anymore. xD I don't know.

What will be revealed at WWDC 2018? The new Apple CEO? :p

I double dare you to ask a Mod for this thread to be made a sticky ;)
Predictions for WWDC 2018.. Ahead of the thread curve there..

Mouse took 20 years, multitouch took roughly the same. 3D screens? Still taking their sweet time. I'm thinking a sort of holography - projecting onto screens, physical gesture analysis.

Though by 2018, i'd imagine China et al will have more of what we're using, ey comrade?

According to this Wiki article, Intel expects to be producing 11nm processors by 2015 (but the International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors doesn't expect it until 2022). If Intel is correct, then we will be using computers with those CPUs then. After that, according to the article, comes nanoelectronics.

10 years from now we will have Macbooks that fit in your pocket. Kinda like the foldable TV idea. You'll be able to roll up the screen, and compact the Macbook for instant access.
