It seems like lots of people on this forum upgrade their MBA every year or at least every other year. What do you people do with their old ones?

My original Rev. A MBA is of no use to me any more. It is slow, heavy, and frankly, just seems too big. I'd like to get some cash for it but I am not what to do (and I'm not trying to sell it to anyone here since that would probably be against the rules).

I sold my old iPhone 3G to some online 'Cash For Your Old iPhone' place and felt I got ripped off. I think I would rather donate my oldMBA to charity before I go through one of those places again...

I sell mine to people that belong to Mac user groups. That way they appreciate it and I get the best price.

I have given away tons of used computer equipment to Goodwill. They gladly accepted it and I even got a receipt I could use to write off on my taxes. Another suggestion is ebay if you didn't want to give it away. I like to start at $0 and see how much I can get, you might be suprised.

Where do I find these users?

They're generally local groups that have been around for years. Just Google "Mac user groups". They're all over the USA. In larger metro areas there will be more than one.

I'm sick of eBay/Paypal, and shipping eating up a high percentage of the sale price. I've used Craiglist lately instead.

Buying another?

Are you going to buy another MAC?

I was in your position a couple months ago. I had a 15" Powerbook G4. I put it on craigslist and got NASTY emails about the price being too high. I got no takers.

I was going to buy a new one so I went to powermax.com. They quoted me MORE than what I offered on Craigslist. Since I was going to buy another, I decided to go through Powermax. Sent it in, exactly 6 weeks later I got the credit for the exact amount they quoted me for.

I then purchased a 13" MBA with one hand and gave the finger to the losers on Craigslist who sent me nasty emails.

I couldn't be more satisfied with PoweMax. They are awesome and were very friendly. I got an email asking for feedback on my whole process. It was signed by the CEO but the return email was some generic feedback email for PowerMax.

I replied back with my first sentence "I reall hope the CEO reads this...". One day later I got a reply FROM the CEO, and the first sentence was "I sure do read all of these".

I dont work for PowerMax, but I would definitely recommend them.
