Same. 16GB is hopelessly overpriced for what it is. It's an iPad. I haven't gotten apps to reload yet with my 8GB (512 like you). My previous was a 4GB 2018 so the difference is more than big enough.

8gb is more than enough for me , it’s a secondary device. Coming from last year’s 6gb 12.9, it’s definitely snappier.

I’d say percentage wise.. it’s high 70 to low 80 of 2021 iPad Pro users who went for 8GBs models.

I love this new iPad. Sold my air 2020 for this because I wanted the larger screen. I am really loving it so far!!!! Just getting used to the magic keyboard now!

Will be delivered next week. I have absolutely ZERO problem with my 6 GB iPad so will absolutely have ZERO problem with 8 GB. This is for my use case so if you have a problem that's your problem ;)

got the 8gb 256 model. 16gb would've been nice, but is it really worth $700 nice? i don't think so. especially for just 1 TB. 8 gb of ram is more than enough for an iPad.

Just got my iPad Pro 12.9 inch 256gb storage option. Comes with 8GB RAM. Loving it so far. Enjoying the mini LED screen watching HDR content. 8GB is more than enough for me.

I'm waiting until WWDC and then planning to get an 8gb 256 wifi 12.9". If I could just upgrade to 16gb I would, but I don't need 1TB of space.

Hoping to maybe see M1 optimized Mac apps (not the OS) become runnable on iPadOS. It'll be interesting.

I did the 256GB and so far it’s blazing fast enough. Interested to see how video editing goes when I start editing videos on it.

i have the 256GB 11" model.

i was tempted to get the 1TB model for the 16GB but i don't need anywhere near that much storage and i can't justify the extra ~£600 just for another 8GB of RAM. i'd have been fine with the 128GB model (i'm only using 36GB so far) but just went with 256GB. i'm honestly not gonna be doing anything "pro" on the ipad. maybe the odd photo/video editing and some casual games. i was originally gonna get the Air at £730 but thought for an extra £120 i'm getting a better display, camera, processor, double the RAM, thunderbolt, etc.

the 12.9" model is way too big and heavy for me. i don't want to be dragging that about. the display on the 11" is perfectly fine for me. if Apple had went OLED i'd have no hesitated dropping the extra £250 but not for Mini LED.

512GB 11" here (so 8GB RAM). I like to get the most storage I possibly can, but the jump up to 1TB/2TB is just unreasonable.

I really hate how Apple tied the RAM and storage together. I wish I had the option of choosing more storage without the additional RAM (or vise-versa for those who prefer more RAM without more storage).

The 1TB is really a hard pill to bite.

How much ram does GeekBench show for the 8gb model?

8GB should easily be enough for my needs and currently iPadOS is capped at 5GB of RAM per app so the use case for 16 is very niche right now on.

I've got 8GB in my iPad Pro, should be enough for now. I know people like to future proof, but I figure I'd probably trade it in for a newer model by the time 16GB is needed anyway.

Mine is the 12.9”, 512 GB model, and I’m very happy with it now. The price jump to 1 TB and 16 GB was too much, and the 8 GB memory in mine is still a big jump from the memory in my older 2017 10.5” Pro.
