where's my HD icon?

I recently got an up date and the hard drive icon I had on the desk top disappeared. Where do I go to drag and drop it to desk top?

I believe you can change that in the Finder Preferences. Go to Finder > Preferences in the menu bar and you should be able to check/uncheck which items you would like to see on the desktop.
