Maybe I'm late to this party, but being new to iOS 14 I'm used to the magnifying glass appearing when moving the cursor around text. Has this gone forever?

Are you asking about Magnifier? You can enable it by going to Settings > Accessibility > Accessibility Shortcut > Magnifier.

No, Im referring to when you used your finger to move the cursor around the screen to add text, a magnifying glass used to appear to magnify the area. Now instead the cursor is enlarged, which isn't as good. Though you can now hold the space bar and move the cursor that way.

Yeah, that was something changed back in iOS 13.

The following article might be of some help when it comes to dealing with text:

One of the worst decisions Apple has ever made IMO was to remove the magnifying glass. It's one of those things you don't really appreciate until it's gone, and it's a major PITA to use iOS without it, at least for me. Should at least be an option. As should the majority of things.
